Allow for retroactive transaction recordings and retroactive start date

When you create your account, you’re unable to post any retroactive transactions. Most people will want to start from their payday. Additionally, my payday is the 10th of every month but I signed up on the 15th. It’s saying I can’t stuff my envelope until Sep 11th but my next payday is August 10th?

Hi Sarah,
Thanks so much for your feedback!
You're right that the app doesn't currently support entering retroactive transactions. When users first set up, we ask for the total amount in their bank accounts plus any cash so they can start budgeting based on what they currently have, rather than needing to go back and record past spending. That said, we understand the desire to see a full financial snapshot, including past expenses, and it's something we're considering for the future.
To change your budgeting date, you can start a new budget anytime. On the first screen, make sure your 'you have' amount reflects what’s currently in your accounts. Then on the second screen, select your actual payday as the budget date. From there, you can stuff your envelopes based on your available total. You can find a step-by-step guide here: https://help.budgetbestie.app/article/4-how-to-start-new-budget
We really appreciate you sharing this. It helps us improve. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at support@budgetbestie.app.
Thanks,
Sasha
